What is Sculptra? 
Sculptra® is an injectable biostimulator made with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which acts to stimulate collagen synthesis in the skin.

Initially approved by the FDA to treat volume loss in HIV patients, Sculptra® soon found its niche in the world of cosmetic skin care. The treatment works by triggering the production of collagen, a protein that naturally decreases with age, leading to a gradual loss of facial volume and the subsequent formation of wrinkles, lines, and unwanted changes in contours. People may start losing about 1 percent of their collagen per year starting in their mid-20s to early 30s. This gradual loss might not be visible right away, but the depletion creates changes that accumulate over time.
